A modern twist on the classic Middle Eastern dessert, replacing traditional dough with fluffy pancakes. Filled with qashta cream nuts, and drizzled with syrup, it’s a delicious fusion of old and new flavours.
Makes:
8-10 portions
Ingredients:
1 cup Buttermilk Pancake mix by Foster Clark’s
3 Tbsps oil
1 egg
160ml milk
For the filling:
Qashta – as desired
Nuts
For the syrup
Equal parts of water and sugar
Preparation:
1. Combine the oil, egg, and milk with the pancake mix and stir well
2. When the pan is hot, pour over the mix.
3. When bubbles start to appear, flip the pancakes.
4. For the syrup, boil equal parts of sugar and water until all the sugar is dissolved.
5. Fold the pancake and fill with Qashta.
6. Drizzle with warm syrup and decorate with nuts.
