Custard & Jelly Layers
A delicious dessert with creamy custard and fruity jelly stacked together for a perfect blend of textures. This colourful, refreshing treat offers a smooth, sweet bite with every spoonful.
Ingredients:
For the jelly:
- 1 sachet jelly from Foster Clark’s
- 2 cups water
For the vanilla custard:
- 2 Tbsps custard powder from Foster Clark’s
- 2-3 Tbsps sugar
- 500ml milk
For the chocolate custard:
- 2 Tbsps custard powder from Foster Clark’s
- 2 Tbsps sugar
- 500ml milk
- 1 Tbsp cocoa powder from Foster Clark’s
Preparation:
- 1. Prepare jelly following instructions on the pack. Set aside to cool slightly
- 2. Prepare vanilla custard separately by combining 2 Tbsps of custard powder and 2-3 Tbsps of sugar with 6 Tbsps of milk. Add this mixture to the remaining milk and stir on high heat for 5 mins. Bring to boil gently until the mixture thickens.
- 3. To prepare the chocolate custard, mix cocoa powder, sugar, and 2 Tbsps of custard powder with 6 Tbsps of milk and mix to make a smooth cream. Add this mixture to the remaining milk and stir on high heat for 5 mins. Bring to boil gently until the mixture thickens.
- 4. Pour jelly and custards into cups, alternating layers between jelly, vanilla custard, and chocolate custard.
- 5. Put the first layer in the fridge to settle before pouring the second layer.
