Autumn Trifle
A deliciously layered dessert combining rich chocolate cake, cream, fruit, and a blend of seasonal flavours. This cosy treat offers the perfect mix of textures and tastes, ideal for celebrating the season.
Ingredients:
- Dark chocolate cake mix by Foster Clark’s
- 1 sachet whipped topping mix by Foster Clark’s
- 120 ml cold milk
- 2 drops pineapple essence from Foster Clark’s
- 2 drops strawberry essence from Foster Clark’s
- 2 drops almond essence from Foster Clark’s
- 1-2 drops orange food colouring by Foster Clark’s
- 1-2 drops red food colouring from Foster Clark’s
- 1 cup pineapple chunks
- 1 cup red berries
- Dark chocolate to decorate
Preparation:
- 1. Prepare the cake mix as instructed on the pack and crumble it once baked.
- 2. In a bowl, whisk the whipping cream mix with cold milk until soft peaks form, then refrigerate.
- 3. Divide the whipped cream into three portions: - To the first portion, add berries, strawberry essence, and red food colouring. - To the second portion, add almond essence. - To the third portion, add pineapple chunks, pineapple essence, and orange food colouring.
- 4. To assemble the trifle, layer the crumbled cake with each flavoured cream portion in alternating layers. Finish with a melted dark chocolate layer on top.
